When I
decided to study social work I compared programs from different universities,
and I liked the social work program of the Universidad de Chile, because it was
a critical social work, which questioned the current system.
Although I
liked the perspective of the university, when I started studying I discovered that
the first two years of the degree would be a bit boring, a lot of theory and nothing the practice. A lot of theory and sometimes boring readings.
Although
some were boring, there were subjects that I liked a lot and teachers that were
very good and nice, the first year I liked methodology of social research with
Professor Gabriela, epistemologies of social sciences and sociological theory I with Professor Pincheira and now in my second year my favorite subject is
Psychology with Professor Troncoso.
The change
I would make would be to add practices or observations for the students who are
getting to know the race, in order to be better prepared and know what the race
is about, I think the change from second to third is a lot, going from theory
to practice very fast It scares me a little.
Another
thing that I do not like are the rooms, in the "aularios" rooms I felt that we
were excluded from the faculty, because of the distance, and now that we have
classes in the faculty, the rooms are very small, They are small for all students.
About
teachers I like, I think it would only take a little reading, but in general
everything is fine.
